Let's see if JJ can shut em down once again. Our offense is ready to put up some runs today, just need our pitching staff to hold em off.

Bah no one even pays any attention to a game thread here. Most all teams have active threads, guess they have more loyal fans that like to talk about the game. Oh well now I know and knowing is half the battle Smile

Well here is a post for ya. Maybe instead of talking about a game some people actually like to keep up with it. I am a loyal fan and sometimes watching the play by play on gameday is all I can do. Sorry but Tigers fans are more loyal than you think and we just dont waste our time talking about the game and actually pay attention to what is going on. Well through two innings we have no score and have been no hit and JJ has a one-hitter going and has gotten the last 4 batters out.Theres keepin up with the game

"guess they have more loyal fans that like to talk about the game."

You guys seem to think I was questioning loyalty and how people watch the game.

Read it again, I am simply saying they have MORE fans posting about games in a game thread. So I am wasting my time with a game thread here because it doesn't seem to fit our fans.

Don't be so uptight, the Tigers are winning.

Well I am uptight now because it is tied at 1 and the Twins have a man on 2nd and no outs

Ya know, it's pretty sad that Terry freakin Mulholland has made our offense look this weak. This sure isn't the same team I watched Friday @ COPA blast Javy Vazquez. Dangit, I HATE the Twinkies. HATE HATE HATE.

Munson's out, and SO ARE THE TIGERS. Geez... why is it that everytime we seem to be ready to break out, a game like this has to happen and kill our momentum?

Well were not out of it yet and Mullholland has never beaten the Tigers so maybe we'll get lucky and come back to get a late inning win against a tough Minnesota bullpen. Well as far as Defilice is he is out and Pena is out. He should move to 1st base Dmitri to DH and Pudge to Catcher that is what I think would happen. 2-2 count now and we will see what happens.

One key play for the Tigers was DiFelice batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. I know the Tigers lost by two, but if DiFelice could have scored the runner from third, it would have been a different game. A simple sac fly, or possibly a ground ball would have worked. Inge also should have been batting before DiFelice in the order, then his fly ball would have been a run (assuming he gets the same pitches). DiFelice is not here for his bat, he is decent defensively, but I have not seen him hit a ball hard yet in any of his games - maybe my memory is short.

Not a real big deal, but I also thought that Pena was a poor choice as a PH in the 8th. I would have rather had Thames, or possibly even Monroe. Pena wasn't even close to catching up with Romero's fast ball.

if Pena couldn't catch up with Romero's fastball, no WAY Thames could. He's playing a little better lately, but he's had trouble hitting anybody's fastball, let alone Romero who was approaching 100.

The managers were playing the matchup game and tram went with the lefty vs righty matchup. Hindsight is 20/20, but what it shows is that our depth is very weak- that's why teams beat us in the end of games.

Yes Defilice didn't advance the runners and that hurt. But that's the price you pay when you rest Pudge. Another big key was when Johnson shook off Defilice and threw a fastball to Offerman instead of an breaking pitch. Game over right there.
