Hey, hey, hey!!

I'm back for a couple posts! (Haven't been around much as I have a new son who is taking up a lot of my time)

For those interested, his name is Diego Alejandro, but we've nicknamed him Pudge (my wife is from Puerto Rico, so it was a natural). He's already up to 11 lbs, 9 oz since May 28th when he was born. He's a chunky fellow. He's going to take over from pudge when he retires in 2027.

I already have him sported out in Tigers apparel and I sent him out with his mom earlier with a Tigers hat on (we live in Chicago, and she ws going out for lunch in the Loop with some friends).

Go Tigers!!!!!

Bad one by Grandy. He paused at 3rd on that grounder, practically saw it fielded by the 3rd basemen before he broke for a home . . . dead duck.

Don't like the running; I'll take 1 run with a DP and no one on than the possibility of a DP still in order esp. with Maggs' speed. I hope I'm wrong on this.

I'm off to work now, will check in about 3:00 for a while.

"Yeah, you would think that Millwood's 7.31 ERA will show up sometime today. "

That seems to have been the Tigers' albatros this year, hasn't it? But Sheff just walked and Maggs just got a single off him and so there's hope! lol

And Sheff just stole another one!

It will be really interesting to see what the Tigers do with Rogers at the end of the year. Its obvious the guy can still pitch with the best of them. I would like to see the Tigers offer him another 2 year contract.

Agreed, I think Leyland took Rogers out 1 inning too soon. Every time we turn to the bullpen my blood pressure jumps.

Fortunately Durbin has emerged as a solid pitcher this year. I really like the idea of converted starters finishing off the last 3 innings of games. Maroth and Ledezma might have been solid in that role as well. Maybe Miner can be another 3 inning guy when he comes back. Anything to keep Grilli, Rodney, and Jones in the bullpen.

AWESOME! GO SHEFF! nice homer (18)...We needed a lift to help my man with that save.

He does need a rest for the Twins. Although our probable pitchers are looking good for us this weekend. I will see Sunday's game, I am going to Houston tomorrow (I know you know, just reminding you- lol)

"Injury was Laird the Tex catcher. Magglio fouled one off his knee. He's fine."

That's good to hear. I was getting worried for minute there. You hate to see anyone getting injured regardless of the team he's playing for.

Kind of an embarrassing message to C-Mo if they keep intentionally walking Casey!

Feldman seems to have some control issues. Three walks this inning (one intential).

Maybe he needs to be embarrassed a couple of times to get out of this slump. Bench him a couple of games and see how he feels.

And it begins.....double. I'm not so worried about them scoring 5 off Durbin. I'm worried about them scoring 2, and then Leyland pulling Durbin.

Pitching change: Ron Mahay for Scott Feldman. Personally, I wonder why they waited so long to take him out.

catbox, I guess you're an optimist. You really think a 3 run lead is safe w/ Jones?

I'd throw Durbin another inning. As for Monroe, is he out of options? Maybe a few weeks in AAA (hopefully) tearing up minor league pitching would do him some good.

Good win today guys. Kenny was too much for us. I was hoping for a 9th inning rally off Jones so I could read how pissedoff y'all were, but it's not to be.

Good luck the rest of the way - except when we meet again, of course.

Well, I’ll start the thread tomorrow and pop in once in a while. I usually only participate on gamethreads when I don’t have anyone to watch the game with (usually day games during the week). Most of the time I watch the game with my dad on the big screen (29”). I'll be out of town this weekend, so I won't be able to start the gamethreads on Saturday and Sunday. So, I'll have to wait until next week to try to break catbox's winning streak.
