Luckily, his works involves a ton of checklists and worksheets and double checking and re-checking, so not too much. He works in the pepsi warehouse and fills orders. He drives a forklift and loads trucks and everything is constantly double checked and re-counted on paper. I don't know what he would do without his lists. He can't remember shit.

Before he went over there, he was studying to be a pilot, that pretty much came to a screeching halt when he got back. He has also had a problem with fatigue and insomnia along with joint pain. But mostly it has affected his memory. They have said all along that it's from posttraumatic stress disorder, which it may be, but I don't know. I don't trust them and of course they don't want to admit anything. All I know is they shot him up with so many experimental drugs before he even left this country, I'm amazed he can still walk.

Has he tried Melatonin to help sleep? I have fibromylgia with a lot of the same symptoms. If he does not get proper rest, (REM sleep) his body will not properly repair daily damage (like memory). Joint pain goes along with it. You can get melatonin in vitamin stores. I get Puritan's Pride (also known as Vitamin World in malls). Also Sam's club has it cheaper. I buy the 3 mg tabs and take 1/2 pill about 1 hr before you want to sleep. It helps you get to sleep, and sleep deeply.

He has tried a few different things to help him sleep. Although, he hates the pills he gets from the doctor, so mostly he takes over the counter things. Right now he is taking Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride. It works, but the problem with that is it takes more and more to put him out. He takes way too many pills to sleep, in MY opinion anyways. But if he takes nothing, he won't sleep... for days Frown

Your welcome. It really has helped me and a lot of my friends who do not want to take medication to sleep. I find too many side effects with drugs whereas this is something your body already makes. The problem is as we age, or have a physical problem sleeping, our bodies cannot make melatonin and seratonion, thus we just get worse and worse.

Oh cool, thank you! I like the fact that this is natural and found in your body anyways. Sleeping pills give him such bad side effects, that's why he hates everything from the doctor. Good prices too! thumbs up

I may just order some for me, although I usually have the opposite problem and stay in bed too damn much :haha:

Yep, and on top of that the Endocrinoligist found that my pituitary gland has quit making human growth hormone so I have to take humitrope injections daily or I age internally faster than normal. It has caused arthitis bad throughout my body. It sucks being 48 and having the internal damage of a 80 year old. The shots, at a low level, have reversed a lot of damage, but I need two knees replaced. I just am afraid of the surgery and finding a good surgeon who won't mess it up.

my other wonder is about the GPS systems everybody seems to use. Won't the govt use those now to stop cars whenever they want?

I have a portable one, used it in Fla by the way, and it seems ok, don't know about the ones build into cars as to the info fed FROM them. We are more in danger of tracking by govt. with our cell phones. That is how the tracked bin Laden. He has since QUIT using them and his own computers.
