Verlander is nails...

My greatest fear this season are plays like the Guillen error (they hopefully will change that, it definitely wasn't Cabrera's E). A guy like JV can work through it, but Bondo (or our pen) I'm not so sure....

Well, the Royals proved today that they're no longer the sleepy team of yesterday. And being this is only the first day I wouldn't say it's "disgusting"...."disheartening" maybe, but we'll see what happens in game 2. I'm certainly not throwing in the towel, and I think it was a good game. Maybe a few things I'd have liked to have seen done differently but overall a good game. I still say we're gonna see autumn ball this year, but I'm always the optimist.

The dreaded E.D. is much worse, although there is medication for it. I guess it's disheartening symbolically because of all of the hype that surrounds the game but on a dreary day in the mid-50s at the end of March I just can't draw any tangible lessons from this result or from the performances.
