Okay, so Inge is having back spasms. That explains why he isn't playing. What's wrong with Infante? Is his back hurting too? How the heck does Neifi continue to get in the game ahead of Omar? Well, it might be that Omar is a career 0-16 vs. Santana.

What I was saying (jokingly) is that he has a much better chance of getting on base with a bunt, since he seems to never get on base when he swings.

1-2-3 innings cannot happen. Verlander will not make it past the 5th at this rate, and the twins WILL score more runs against the pen. The Tigers MUST score runs. IF they want to call themselves the BEST OFFENSE in baseball, they have to beat the best PITCHER.

I'm glad Maggs didn't get tossed. Good job by Guillen to get him out of there.

I've never seen Maggs would up like that.

Cleveland and Tampa are tied 1-1. Verlander has now proven that he is only a #2 starter this year. Anyone remember the 7 run disaster at Cleveland. He only pitched 16 scoreless innings his next two starts (including the no hitter).

Monroe has been given more opportunity to turn it around than most big leaguers would. I would expect Detroit to make a justifiable move if he continues to not produce at all.

Exactly. At this time last year, the bottom of the lineup was the best 7 8 and 9 hitters in baseball. Monroe has truned into a black hole in the lineup REALLY fast, and I'm not sure if he can turn it around.

IU'm with ya there. i like craig. As a matter of fact, last season when I was at the game where he hit the grand slam to eventually beat Chicago I became I fan of his. But facts are facts, and besides a 3 month stretch last season, his career is mediocre at best, and right now he is struggling to the point where he almost HAS to be replaced.

Well, with Neifi, its understood that he is on the team for his defense. At this point, what is Craig still doing here? I think his grand slam against Chicago and game winning home run in New York from last year honeymoon is close to an end. You gotta be productive or at least play a role somehow. Left field CAN be replaced, bottom line.

Lets keep in things in perspective: 8 out of 11 isn't bad. The next two in the series are more than winnable, even withOUT Sheff, and Cleveland WILL NOT, GUARANTEE do what they did last time.

Cleveland will build a false sense of confidence against Tampa and then get rolled at Detroit. A series like this may just make Detroit angry and focused. We've all seen it before.

I think this loss hurts more than previous ones because our own golden boy Verlander got dialed up. Cleveland winning doesn't help either. A couple wins in a row puts us right back on track.
