We're taking a family vacation to Michigan and the Tigers will be in town this time unless we change the dates we're going. I plan on heading over to Windsor while I'm there (I have a passport) as I've never been to Canada. The original arena of the Detroit Red Wings (then Detroit Cougars), used in 1926-1927, still stands in Windsor so I'd like to see that.

Ideally I'll be able to attend either the 7/23 day game against Seattle or the 7/24 part one of the DH against CHW.
I'd rather attend a day game even though the weather really sucks so that I could head to Canada for a while after the game. Then again I could do that first so I'm not really sure.

Two too many day games in July if you ask me

Day night DH's suck

Especially a game that is postponed in April to be played in hot, humid July weather

I don't tend to like day games. You get sun burned sooo easily and it is SOOO hot....

Isn't there shade in the lower section behind home plate?

I don't care about ticket prices (the most expensive non-suite is like $70) so if there's any shady area I'll go for that.

I checked the other day and you can get tickets wherever you want.

I guess so. I don't pay that close of attention to where it's shady. I know that I have sat a lot of places there, and I have never been in shade until it gets dark out. But I've not been DIRECTLY behind home plate so I guess maybe there there is shade? I don't know.

Pictures seem to suggest there isn't much shade there. These damn new stadiums don't ever have shaded seats Mad

I guess I could go to Canada in the morning and the game at night.

How easy is it to get to/from Canada? I have a passport and would like to do it on foot as I don't feel like driving across the border.

I had a miserable weekend at Comerica Park

I got soaked to the skin Friday Night

Burnt Saturday and Sunday

And 90-95 degree weather for the Cubs series this week

Probably die of heatstroke

I miss Tiger Stadium

I would have stayed dry and not burnt in the lower deck bleachers on days like these

But Ilitch gotta have his crappy ass Comerica Park

Comerica Park sucks!

It is the hottest ballpark in MLB

With homeland security these days [ Canada is such a terror threat you know!] it could take you two hours to cross the bridge before game time

I'll probably walk although you guys seem to think driving isn't too bad. I'm not sure how auto insurance and all that works in a foreign country so I'd rather not drive...especially since it'll be my mom's car, not mine.

Other people would go with me but nobody has a passport. I can't believe you need a passport to go to Canada scratch
