DETROIT — The Tigers said Friday they have sent outfielder Timo Perez to the Toledo Mud Hens, their Triple-A affiliate.

Perez, a 32-year-old left-handed batter, hit .389 with 13 RBI and 12 runs in 29 games last season.

He previously played for the New York Mets, the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis. In 603 games spanning eight major-league seasons, he has a .269 batting average, 26 homers, 185 RBI, 187 runs and 23 stolen bases.

No surprise here.

At least he's still in the Tiger organization.

Hopefully he learns to hustle in the outfield. In the 9/11/07 day game he just stood there watching three balls just barelly make it over the right field fence. Maggs would at least try to get them! For some reason Timo plays left field more aggressively. Maggs played DH in that game and I would love to have heard his reaction to Timo's playing that day.

Maybe he just wasn't comfortable there :shrug:

I know when I was playing, I was totally out of my element when I played anywhere on the right side of the field.

That could be, do you remember him playing RF at any other time last year?

I couldn't stand to see him in a Tiger uniform everytime I posted anymore

Brandon isn't going anywhere yet, I don't think many teams are interested in him Frown

I hope you are right! I like Brandon! He just needs to know his role on the Tigers! Nothing wrong with being a back up third basemen or catcher on a potential WS team in 08

No matter where he plays, Miller will always be your player, he will have a much better chance of becoming a star there, the Tigers push their players too much.

They may build, win a WS, then tear down, but they are good at it and their present GM can handle it, whereas DD said it was too much for him to build, then have to get rid of great players when they make star level money!

Someday, we may even get him back, like for Bonderman's replacement!!!!

Maybe Miller will return to the Tigers someday! That would be cool!

Yep

I liked him before he was a Tiger and I'll continue to watch him now that he's a fish. And I agree, Detroit pushes their young players too hard. I was very unhappy with what they did to him last year. He will do better with this club I think.
