DETROIT (AP) — About 50 of the fans who bought seats from the former home of the Detroit Tigers have reported their life-size souvenirs are arriving broken.

An official with the St. Louis-based company that conducted the sale tells the Detroit Free Press most of the complaints relate to loose, missing or broken bolts. Dan Rosenthal says Schneider Industries is mailing parts to fix the problem.

He has asked that customers send a photo of the damage if the seats arrive broken beyond repair.

Fans bought 6,909 pairs of seats worth a total of more than $2 million. The city of Detroit plans to use proceeds from the auction of seats and other memorabilia to defray the costs of demolition.

The stadium has been empty since the Tigers moved to Comerica Park in 2000.

What A joke! Of course what do you expect from plastic seats from the 1970s renovation. I liked the green seats better

On second thought, leave the seats alone and save the stadium

POOR TIGER STADIUM!

My seats aren't broken! I sit in mine, they aren't display purposes only by any means! They are awesome!

I forget what I paid but it was around $250ish or something with free shipping. That isn't bad since the box was 96 pounds and mailed all the way from Indiana (why did an Indiana company ship them and what not? No wonder Michigan is broke!)

That doesn't happen. Since there's nothing in front of them I can stretch out my legs all I want. I'm pretty impressed with the seats, they fold down quite easily. I can fold them down with just a pinky. Even more exciting, when I let go they fold right back up like they're supposed to. I have seats 1 and 2, too. The thing where the row number/letter goes isn't there. I wrote to american seating (the company that made them) and they referred me to someone else where I can order one. I don't know where my seats are from but I'll call them row 1 (or did Tiger Stadium go by row A, B, C, etc.?)

Regardless, since they're my only seats they're going to be the front row. Some day I hope to find seats 3 and 4 so that I can have 4 seats which would be about as wide as a couch. If I ever get a basement I might try to find 1-4 again and have 2 rows but that's unlikely.

It's because we drink too much beer and have to use the restroom... whistle

I hate when people are always getting up every two seconds! Though it is not a problem in my row! Most of the people that sit in my row at Comerica are into the game.
