Tigers, Pure Michigan announce partnership
Advertising campaign will showcase throughout Comerica Park

The Tigers and Pure Michigan announced a partnership on Friday that will showcase the state's advertising campaign throughout Comerica Park, highlighting the state's tourism drive for fans to see nationwide on television and in person.

Whether fans are watching in person or on television, it will be tough to miss the centerpiece, a giant Pure Michigan logo along the scaffolding of the right-field light tower. The placement puts the Detroit skyline in the background.

"We're genuinely thrilled Pure Michigan will have high visibility within Comerica Park," Tigers vice president of corporate partnerships Steve Harms said in a statement. "What makes this partnership unique is the impact it will have on promoting the state of Michigan to the business community and the millions of baseball fans around the country."

Beyond that, the Pure Michigan logo will be spotted on television on the bench backs and railings in both dugouts. The advertising panels behind home plate also will feature it as part of the rotating spots.

In addition, the Pure Michigan commercials will be running during breaks on Tigers broadcasts in out-of-state markets.

Pure Michigan is coming to Comerica Park

Fans at Comerica Park this summer will be reminded to be a tourist in their own home state.

Travel Michigan officials announced this morning that Pure Michigan ads are going up in the park, both as a large logo on a light tower in right field and on dugout bench backs and railings for the Tigers and visiting squads.

The ads will continue for three seasons.

The Pure Michigan campaign, introduced in 2006, is one of the most famous state tourist slogans in history, along with Virginia is for Lovers and I (Heart) NY.

The Pure Michigan web site, www.michigan.org, is the most visited state tourism website.
