Fans can help Tigers' Miguel Cabrera win award

While Tigers fans can't influence Miguel Cabrera's chances of winning the American League MVP from the baseball writers, they can vote for him to win another award.

The All-Star first baseman is one of six players up for the Major League Baseball Clutch Performer of the Year Award.

Voting is ongoing and online at www.pepsiclutch.mlb.com , where fans can vote until 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 25. The winner will be announced the next day.

Cabrera, who hit .328 with 38 home runs, 126 RBIs and 111 runs, is the only finalist whose team did not reach the postseason.

He is joined by Reds first baseman Joey Votto and four pitchers -- Phillies right-handed starter Roy Halladay, Yankees left-handed starter CC Sabathia, Rays right-handed closer Rafael Soriano and Giants right-handed closer Brian Wilson.
