Detroit Signs Two-Year Extension with New York-Penn League Affiliate

The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has extended its working agreement with Single A Connecticut for two years, extending the agreement through the 2012 season.

"The Tigers are very pleased to enter into this extension agreement with Connecticut," Tigers Director, Minor League Operations Dan Lunetta said. "Our partnership with Miles Prentice, Andrew Weber and the Connecticut management team has developed quite well over the past two years and we view Norwich as a locale that fits well into our player development system. We are confident that the fan base will grow in the coming years and that the facility will be well maintained. We look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come."

The 2010 season marks the first season the franchise has been based in Connecticut after playing in Oneonta for the first 11 seasons as Detroit's Short-Season Single A affiliate.
