Tigers Come Back for a 4-2 Win

NORWICH-The Connecticut Tigers (30-30) scored three runs in the fifth inning to earn a 4-2 win over the Staten Island Yankees (26-30) before 3,213 fans, the largest crowd of the season, at Dodd Stadium on Friday night.

The clubs battled to a scoreless tie until the Yankees broke through with a run in the fifth inning. C Jeffrey Farnham (2-4) singled and stole second base.

2B Casey Stevenson (3-5) dropped a single into center field to score Farnham and make it 1-0 Yankees.

The Tigers responded in the fifth inning. DH Brett Anderson (0-3) walked and stole second base. SS Ryan Soares (0-2) reached base on a sacrifice bunt and Anderson moved to third base.

LF Chao-Ting Tang (0-3) followed with a fielder's choice. The Yankees forced out Soares at second base and Anderson scored to tie the game at 1-1.

RF Londell Taylor (0-3) struck out and CF P.J. Polk (2-3) followed with a double to left field to score Tang and make it a 2-1 lead.

Polk stole third base and scored on a throwing error by Staten Island C Jeffrey Farnham for a 3-1 advantage.

The Tigers and Yankees continue their series on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. It's the Girl Scout Sleepover at Dodd Stadium following Saturday's game. RHP Zachary Varce (1-5, 5.32) gets the start for Staten Island against Connecticut RHP Patrick Lawson (2-2, 2.98). NORWICH-The Staten Island Yankees (27-30) scored single runs in the sixth and eighth innings to beat the Connecticut Tigers (30-31) 2-0 before 1,708 fans at Dodd Stadium on Saturday night.

The Yankees scored a single run in the sixth inning against Connecticut RHP Patrick Lawson (2-3). DH Rob Segedin (1-4) led off the inning with a walk and moved to third base on a single by 1B Kyle Roller (1-3).

C Gary Sanchez (0-2) lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Segedin for a 1-0 lead.

Staten Island tacked on a run in the eighth inning. Segedin led off the inning with a single and moved to second base on a walk issued to Roller. The Yankees loaded the bases and went up 2-0 when 3B Garrison Lassiter (1-2) received a bases-loaded walk to force in Segedin.

Lawson pitched five and two-thirds innings to suffer the loss.

TIGER TRACKS:
Tigers pitchers recorded 14 strikeouts in the game on Saturday, setting a new season-high in that category. The previous high of 13 strikeouts was set on June 29 against the Lowell Spinners at Dodd Stadium in a game the Tigers won 1-0.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers have activated LHP Brandon Barrow. He was signed to a contract by the Tigers after his release from the Kansas City Royals organization in late July. Barrow last pitched for the Burlington Bees of the Midwest League. He went 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA in 8 appearances with the Royals. He started his career in the Marlins organization in 2007 and pitched with the Jamestown Jammers of the New York-Penn League in 2009.

The Tigers and Yankees conclude their series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. The Tigers will host "Turn Back the Clock" Day with a special base ball game by the Thames Valley Base Ball Club. The first 500 fans will receive a Benedict Arnold bobblehead doll courtesy of the New London County Historical Society. It's also a Sunday Funday with a post-game catch on the field and kids running the bases sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods and Michael's Dairy. RHP Shane Greene (2-6, 4.59) gets the start for Staten Island against Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo (2-2, 2.98). Tigers and Yankees Rained Out

NORWICH - The Connecticut Tigers and Staten Island Yankees were rained out on Sunday afternoon due to poor field conditions at Dodd Stadium. The game will not be made up.

Today's Benedict Arnold Bobblehead giveaway sponsored by the New London County Historical Society and the Thames Valley Base Ball Club game set to 1861 rules has been rescheduled to next Sunday, August 29 when the Tigers take on the Brooklyn Cyclones at 1:05 p.m. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. next Sunday.

The Tigers remind fans that have tickets to today's game that they may exchange those tickets for seats of equal or lesser value to any one of the remaining home games at Dodd Stadium during the 2010 season. The exchange must be done in person at the Dodd Stadium Box Office.

The Tigers finish their home stand against the Tri-City ValleyCats on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. It's dollar hot dog night at Dodd Stadium. The ValleyCats have yet to announce a starting pitcher while the Tigers will start LHP Rayni Guichardo (3-3, 3.99). Pre-game coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1310 WICH and online at www.cttigers.com.

ValleyCats Dominate Tigers 10-2

NORWICH-The Tri-City ValleyCats (31-30) scored 10 runs on 14 hits to beat the Connecticut Tigers (30-32) by a score of 10-2 before 797 fans at Dodd Stadium on Monday night.

The ValleyCats scored two runs in the first inning against Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo (3-4). SS Ben Orloff (1-4) walked and moved to second base on a ground out by 2B Kike Hernandez 91-5). Orloff stole third and scored on a wild pitch for a 1-0 lead.

Both 3B Tyler Burnett (1-4) and CF Daniel Adamson (1-4) walked. Burnett moved to third base on the wild pitch and scored on a ground out by RF Michael Kvasnicka for a 2-0 lead.

C Christopher Wallace (1-4) led off the second inning with a solo home run to make it 3-0 Tri-City.

The Tigers scored a single run in the fourth inning. 2B Alexander Nunez (2-4) doubled and scored on a single by 1B James Robbins (1-4) to put Connecticut on the scoreboard at 3-1.

In the Connecticut fifth inning, 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-3) singled, advanced to second base on a past ball, and moved to third base on a wild pitch. With SS Ryan Soares (1-2) reaching base on a walk, the Tigers tried a double-steal. Soares took off from first and Ashenbrenner scored from third base to bring the Tigers within one run at 3-2.

The ValleyCats scored four runs over the sixth and seventh innings to balloon their lead to 7-2.

The Tigers head to the road on Tuesday to begin a four-game road trip and wrap up the home-and-home series against the Tri-City ValleyCats in Troy, NY. RHP Josue Carreno (4-6, 4.21) gets the start for the Connecticut Tigers against RHP Bobby Doran (4-4, 4.24) for the ValleyCats. ValleyCats Win 5-4 in 11 Innings

TROY, NY-The Tri-City ValleyCats (32-30) took advantage of five Connecticut Tigers (30-33) errors to come back for a 5-4 win in 11 innings before 4,448 fans at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Tigers scored a single run in the first inning against Tri-City RHP Bobby Doran. CF P.J. Polk (2-5) doubled and moved to third base on a ground out by RF Ryan Enos.

1B James Robbins (2-5) blooped a single to center field to score Polk for a 1-0 lead.

The ValleyCats scored two runs in the first inning against Connecticut RHP Josue Carreno. CF Daniel Adamson (1-5) hit a two-run home run over the left field wall for a 2-1 Tri-City advantage.

In the third inning, the ValleyCats earned a 3-1 lead. 2B Kike Hernandez (1-4) walked and scored on a double 3B Tyler Burnett (1-5).

The Tigers tied the game with two runs in the fourth inning. 2B Alexander Nunez (2-5) led off the inning with a double and moved to third base when C Julio Rodriguez (2-5) popped out to left field. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-5) doubled to score Nunez for a 3-2 Tri-City advantage.

DH Eric Roof (1-5) followed with a bloop double inside the left field foul line to plate Ashenbrenner and make it 3-3.

Connecticut scored a run in the fifth inning to break through with a 4-3 lead. RF Ryan Enos (1-5) singled and stole second base. He moved to third base on a single by Robbins and scored when Nunez reached on a fielder's choice for a 4-3 lead.

Hernandez added an RBI single in the sixth inning to tie the game at 4-4 for Tri-City.

The two teams remained tied until the 11th inning when SS Ben Orloff (1-4)walked and stole second base. Hernandez reached base on an error and scored when Burnett reached on an error by Connecticut SS Brett Anderson.

The Tigers travel to Burlington, VT to start a three-game series with the Vermont Lake Monsters on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. RHP Brennan Smith (0-5, 3.67) gets the start for Connecticut against LHP Matt Grace (1-1, 6.27 GCL Nationals in 2010) for Vermont. Tigers Win 6-5 in Vermont

BURLINGTON, VT-The Connecticut Tigers (31-33) scored five runs in the seventh inning to earn a 6-5 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters (31-29) before 3,802 fans at Centennial Field on Wednesday night.

The Tigers scored a run in the fourth inning. C Julio Rodriguez (1-4) reached base with a one-out single and moved to second base on a wild pitch. He scored when 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-3) reached base on a fielding error by Vermont 2B Hendry Jimenez for a 1-0 lead.

Connecticut cemented it's lead in the seventh inning. Ashenbrenner led off the inning with a single, moved to second base on a walk by SS Ryan Soares (1-3) and to third base when RF Chao-Ting Tang (0-2) walked.

LF Ryan Enos (2-5) hit a two-run single that scored Ashenbrenner and Soares for a 3-0 lead.

The Lake Monsters intentionally walked 1B James Robbins (0-3) to load the bases for 2B Alexander Nunez (1-5), who smacked a two-run single. He moved to third on an error by Vermont LF Kevin Keyes that plated Robbins for a 6-0 lead.

Vermont scored a single run in the seventh inning, three runs in the eighth inning and one run in the ninth inning to slim the Tigers lead to 6-5.

RHP Brennan Smith (1-5) was outstanding in his start for the Tigers. He pitched five scoreless innings and allowed no runs on three hits.

TIGER TRACKS:
LHP Brandon Barrow made his debut for the Tigers on Wednesday. He pitched two innings and allowed one run on one hit. Barrow went 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA for Low A Burlington in the Kansas City Royals organization in 2010.

Tigers Win 7-3; On the Verge of First Place

BURLINGTON, VT-The Connecticut Tigers (32-33) scored five runs over the first three innings to earn a 7-3 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters (31-30) and pull within one game of first place before 2,553 fans at Centennial Field on Thursday.

The Tigers jumped out to the 2-0 lead in the first inning against Vermont LHP Matt Grace (0-1). CF P.J. Polk (3-4) walked and scored on a two-run home run over the left field wall by LF Ryan Enos (1-5).

Connecticut scored three runs in the third inning. RF Londell Taylor (1-3) led off the inning with a single and was forced out at second base when Polk hit into a fielder's choice. Polk stole second base and Enos reached on an error.

2B Alexander Nunez (1-4) followed with a single to score Polk and make it 3-0. Enos and Nunez each advanced to scoring position on a past ball

C Julio Rodriguez (1-4) hit a single to score both men and make it 5-0.

The Lake Monsters scored two runs in the third inning to cut the Tigers lead down to 5-2 but Connecticut scored a run in the fourth inning. DH Brett Anderson (1-4) led off the inning with a walk and moved to third base on a double by 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-4).

Polk hit an RBI single to plate Anderson and advance the Connecticut lead to 6-2.

In the sixth inning, the Tigers scored one run on two hits. Anderson led off the inning with a double and scored on a single by SS Ryan Soares (2-4) for a 7-2 Connecticut lead.

RHP Clemente Mendoza tossed six innings for the win and RHP Miguel Mejia pitched three scoreless innings to get his first save of the season.

Tigers Win 8-2; Tied for First Place

BURLINGTON, VT-RHP Patrick Lawson pitched five innings without allowing a hit to lead the Connecticut Tigers to an 8-2 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters to complete the three-game sweep and move into a first place tie with the Lake Monsters in the Stedler Division before 4,217 fans at Centennial Field on Friday night.

Connecticut scored a single run in the first inning against Vermont RHP Aaron Barrett (0-4). CF P.J. Polk (0-2) walked and stole second base. He advanced to third base on a wild pitch and scored on a single by 1B James Robbins (2-5) for a 1-0 lead. The Tigers scored three more runs in the third inning. LF Ryan Enos (2-5) led off the inning with a single and scored on a two-run home run by Robbins for a 3-0 lead.

3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-4) singled and scored on a double by C Eric Roof (1-3) for a 4-0 advantage.

The Tigers scored two runs in the sixth inning to take a 6-0 lead. SS Ryan Soares (3-5) singled and moved to second base when RF Chao-Ting Tang (0-3) walked. A walk issued to Polk loaded the bases.

Soares scored when Enos hit into a fielder's choice. Tang moved to third base on the play and scored when the Tigers executed a double steal to make it 6-0 in favor of Connecticut.

RHP Patrick Lawson (3-3) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning until the Lake Monsters scored two runs on one hit. Connecticut added a single run in the seventh inning when Soares hit an RBI single to score Ashenbrenner, who led off the inning with a hit by pitch.

The Tigers return home to start a three-game series against the Brooklyn Cyclones on Saturday at 7:05. It's "Palm Trees and Baseball" Night with a special fireworks show after the game sponsored by XtraMart Convenience Stores and Atlas PyroVision. RHP Yohan Almonte (7-4, 2.23) gets the start for the Brooklyn Cyclones against LHP Rayni Guichardo (3-4, 4.41) for the Tigers. NORWICH-RHP Yohan Almonte (8-4) tossed a six-hit, complete game shutout to lead the Brooklyn Cyclones (44-21) to a 10-0 win over the Connecticut Tigers (33-34) before 2,684 fans at Dodd Stadium on Saturday night. The Cyclones scored a run in the third inning against Connecticut LHP Rayni Guichardo (3-5). 2B Justin Schaeffer (3-5) doubled and moved to third base on a groundout by CF Darrell Ceciliani (2-5). SS Wilfredo Tovar (0-4) lined out to center field to score Schroeder and make it 1-0 Brooklyn. In the sixth inning, C Blake Forysthe (2-4) launched a solo home run over the left field wall for his third home run of the season in a 2-0 Brooklyn lead. Brooklyn pushed across six runs in the eighth inning to solidify an 8-0 lead. Guichardo pitched six innings and allowed two runs on seven hits to suffer the loss. The Tigers and Cyclones continue their series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. It's "Turn Back the Clock Day" featuring a Benedict Arnold Bobblehead sponsored by New London County Historical Society. The Thames Valley Base Ball Club will also be playing a special base ball game set to 1861 rules beginning at 11:30 a.m. Gates will also open at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Tigers Even Series With 6-3 Win

NORWICH, CT-The Connecticut Tigers (34-34) scored six runs on nine hits to earn a 6-3 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones (44-22) before 1,776 fans at Dodd Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning against Brooklyn LHP Angel Cuan (5-1). LF Ryan Enos (1-4) and C Julio Rodriguez (2-4) each singled. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-3) followed with a two-run double to make it 2-0 Connecticut.

The Tigers tacked on runs in the second and third innings. In the second inning, 1B Matt Perry (2-4) led off the inning with a double and scored when RF Londell Taylor (0-3) reached base on an error by Brooklyn SS Wilfredo Tovar. In the third inning, Rodriguez tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ashenbrenner.

The Cyclones scored three runs in the fourth inning on a three-run home run from CF Cory Vaughn (1-3) to get within one run at 4-3.

Connecticut added two insurance runs in the sixth inning to get a 6-3 lead. Ashenbrenner singled and DH Brett Anderson (2-3) doubled. Perry singled home Ashenbrenner to make it 5-3 with Anderson moving to third base. SS Ryan Soares lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Ashenbrenner and advance the score to 6-3.

The Tigers and Cyclones finish their series on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. It's Football Night at Dodd Stadium with a special appearance by former New England quarterback Steve Grogan. Brooklyn will send RHP Jonathan Kountis (0-1, 6.55) to the mound against RHP Brennan Smith (1-5, 3.36). Pre-game coverage starts at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1310 WICH and online at www.cttigers.com. Cyclones Take Series With 6-1 Win

NORWICH, CT-The Brooklyn Cyclones (45-22) scored six runs on 14 hits to beat the Connecticut Tigers (34-35) by a score of 6-1 before 1,287 fans at Dodd Stadium on Monday night.

The Cyclones scored three runs in the fifth inning against Connecticut RHP Brennan Smith (1-6). 3B James Schroeder (1-3) and SS Wilfredo Tovar (3-4) hit back-to-back singles. 2B J.B. Brown (2-5) followed with an RBI single to score Schroeder and make it 1-0.

RF Cory Vaughn (2-5) reached on an error by Connecticut SS Dixon Machado to score both Tovar and Brown and make it 3-0.

The Tigers got a run back in the fifth inning. CF P.J. Polk (2-4) singled and moved to second base on a single by LF Ryan Enos (2-4). Both players advanced one base on a throwing error by Brooklyn CF Darrel Ceciliani.

1B James Robbins (1-3) lifted a sacrifice fly to score Polk and make it 3-1.

Brooklyn added single runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings to make it 6-1.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers released LHP Brandon Barrow before Sunday's game. The team also added RHP Jeff Ferrell, RHP Wilsen Palacios and SS Dixon Machado from the GCL Tigers. Ferrell went 5-5 with a 3.14 ERA in 11 starts with the GCL Tigers following his selection in the 26th round of the 2010 draft from Pitt Community College in North Carolina. Palacios was 4-4 with a 2.79 ERA in 11 starts. SS Dixon Machado hit .261 with no home runs and 11 RBI in 43 games played. The Tigers also placed RHP Tyler White on the Disabled List retroactive to August 26.

Machado started the game at shortstop and went 1-4 with a single in the sixth inning. Ferrell pitched three innings for the Tigers.

The Tigers and Aberdeen IronBirds, start a three-game series at Dodd Stadium on Tuesday night. It's the final Kraft Singles Tuesday Night Tickets and the final Two for Tuesday of the season presented by Price Chopper. RHP Bruno Sanchez (3-4, 4.80) gets the start for Aberdeen against RHP Clemente Mendoza (6-5, 4.72) for Connecticut. NORWICH, CT-The Connecticut Tigers (35-35) broke a 1-1 tie when SS Dixon Machado (0-4) reached base on an error in the 11th inning that allowed 2B Alexander Nunez (3-5) to score from third base for a 2-1 win over the Aberdeen IronBirds (32-37) before 909 fans at Dodd Stadium on Tuesday night.

The two clubs battled to a scoreless tie until the ninth inning when the IronBirds scored a single run against Connecticut RHP Tyler Clark. 2B Mychal Givens (1-4) walked and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by CF Austin Knight (0-4).

DH Manny Machado (1-4) doubled to score Givens and make it 1-0 Aberdeen.

RHP Clemente Mendoza pitched eight scoreless innings for Connecticut and allowed no runs on two hits in a no-decision.

The Tigers tied the game in the ninth inning on a solo home run by 2B Alexander Nunez (3-5) against Aberdeen RHP Steven Mazur.

In the 11th inning, Nunez led off the inning with a single and went to second base when Ashenbrenner laid down a sacrifice bunt. C Julio Rodriguez (1-5) grounded out to move Nunez to third base. He scored when Machado hit a ground ball to 2B Michael Givens, who misplayed the baseball and allowed Machado to reach first base.

Tigers Win Another Extra Inning Thriller

For the second straight night, the Connecticut Tigers completed a comeback with an extra inning win against the Aberdeen IronBirds. Connecticut (36-35) is in 2nd place, and only .5 games behind Tri-City in the New York - Penn League Stedler Division with four games left in the season.

The Tigers defeated the IronBirds 3-2 in 10 innings at Dodd Stadium on Wednesday night. Dixon Machado scored the winning run on a PJ Polk single to right field. Machado collided with catcher Joel Polonco on a play at the plate and knocked the ball loose to score.

Connecticut will play their final home game of the season Thursday night at Dodd Stadium. It's Fan Appreciation Night with fireworks after the game. Tigers Move Into First Place

ABERDEEN, MD-The Connecticut Tigers (38-35) beat the Aberdeen IronBirds (32-40) 7-6 before 6,510 fans at Ripken Stadium in the opener of a three-game series on Friday night. With the Tigers' win and the loss by the Tri-City ValleyCats in Brooklyn, the Tigers move into sole possession of first place in the NY-Penn League Stedler Division. Connecticut has a half-game lead with two games left to play in the 2010 regular season.

The Tigers scored a run in the first inning against Aberdeen RHP Tim Adleman. LF Ryan Enos (2-4) doubled and 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-4) blooped a double to right field to score to score Enos for a 1-0 lead.

In the second inning, C Julio Rodriguez (1-4) reached base on an error and went to second base on a single by DH Matt Perry (3-5). Rodriguez stole third base and scored on a sacrifice fly by RF Chao-Ting Tang (1-3) to make it 2-0.

In the fourth inning, Enos hit a two-run home run over the right field wall to increase the score to 4-0.

The IronBirds scored four runs in the fourth inning to tie the game at 4-4 and chase RHP Josue Carreno out of the game.

Connecticut took the lead for good in the sixth inning. Perry singled and went to second base on a sacrifice bunt by SS Dixon Machado (1-3). Tang hit a RBI single to plate Perry and make it 5-4.

The Tigers jumped out to a 7-4 lead on RBI hits by Perry and Machado in the seventh inning.

RHP Tyler Clark (3-1) got the win by pitching three innings of relief. RHP Miguel Mejia logged the final two-thirds of an inning to get his fourth save.

ABERDEEN, MD- The Aberdeen IronBirds (33-40) scored two runs in the first inning en route to a 3-1 win over the Connecticut Tigers (38-36) before 6,629 fans at Ripken Stadium on Saturday night. With the Connecticut loss and win by the Tri-City ValleyCats in Brooklyn, the Tigers fall into second place in the NYPL Stedler Division. They are one-half game behind the ValleyCats for the final playoff spot in the New York-Penn League with one game left to play.

The IronBirds scored their two runs against Connecticut RHP Brennan Smith (1-7). 2B Mychal Givens (1-3) led off the inning with a solo home run and RF Blair Dunlap (0-2) walked. He went to third base on a single by DH Manny Machado (2-3) and scored on a sacrifice fly by LF Kipp Schutz (1-4) to make it 2-0.

Aberdeen scored a single run in the sixth inning to make it 3-0. 1B Adam Gaylord (1-4) singled and moved to third base on a single by 3B Connor Narron (1-4). A sacrifice fly by CF Jeremy Nowak (0-2) scored Gaylord.

Tigers End Season With 8-7 Loss in 13 Innings

ABERDEEN, MD-The Aberdeen IronBirds (34-40) scored three runs in the 13th inning to earn an 8-7 win over the Connecticut Tigers (38-37) before 6,527 fans at Ripken Stadium. The loss ends the playoff chances for the Tigers, who needed a win on Sunday and a Tri-City loss in Brooklyn to earn the Stedler Division Championship and a ticket to the New York-Penn League playoffs.

Connecticut opened up the scoring in the first inning. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-7) singled and moved to third base on a single by C Julio Rodriguez (3-7). A fielding error by Aberdeen CF Jeremy Nowak allowed Ashenbrenner to score for a 1-0 lead.

Aberdeen scored four runs in the second inning against Connecticut RHP Clemente Mendoza. 1B David Anderson (1-4) hit a solo home run to tie the game at 1-1. 3B Connor Narron (0-5) walked and went to third base on a double by 2B Sammie Starr (1-6).

CF Jeremy Nowak (1-4) followed with a two-run double to make it 3-1 Aberdeen.

With the Tigers down 4-1 in the third inning, CF P.J. Polk (2-7) and LF Ryan Enos (5-7) led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Ashenbrenner reached base on a fielder's choice with Polk retired at third base. Rodriguez singled to load the bases.

1B James Robbins (3-6) lifted a two-run double to right field to score Enos and Ashenbrenner and get the Tigers within one run at 4-3.

The Tigers scored the tying run in the fourth inning. DH Matt Perry (1-6) singled and went to second base on a sacrifice bunt by SS Dixon Machado (3-4). Enos followed with an RBI single to plate Perry and tie it at 4-4.

The game remained tied until the 11th inning. Machado hit a one-out single and moved to second base on a single by Polk. Enos lined a single through the right side of the infield to score Machado and make it 5-4 Connecticut.

The IronBirds tied the game in the 11th inning on an RBI single by C Joe Oliveira (1-2).

Connecticut scored two runs in the 13th inning to earn a 7-5 lead. Machado led off the inning with a walk and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt. Enos lined an RBI single to score Machado and give Connecticut a 6-5 lead. Ashenbrenner followed with a single to score Enos and make it 7-5.

The IronBirds scored three runs in the 13th inning to win the game. DH Mychael Givens (3-5) was hit by a pitch and RF Blair Dunlap (2-5) singled. SS Many Machado (2-7) smacked a triple off the wall in center field to score both men and tie the game at 7-7.

LF Kipp Schutz (1-6) lined a single into left field to give Aberdeen a "walk off" win and end the Tigers' season.
