Tigers should get Matt Capps Thread!

Ok. So Matt Capps didn't have a great year last year, but, he could come back this year and have a great season. I say try and grab him, before someone else does.

Chien-Ming Wang is also a free agent, as is Garko, he could be a good DH, Jack Cust, Garrett Atkins, Jonny Gomes, Mike MacDougal?

MacDougal was 20-21 in saves, Capps, had 27, but was 5-8, and had a pretty big ERA, which can change.

Wang won 19 games TWICE. He's only projected to make around 4 mill, so I say sign him.

We've freed up some space this year, so we really need to take a chance for some of these guys.

Once Verlander gets his raise, there goes most of the savings. That is why they are talking about trading either Bobby Seay or Miner. Bull, this isn't a fire sale!

Still, I think we should be able to go after one of those guys. They all had off years, and what have we got to lose? We haven't been to the playoffs since '06, so we've gotta get something going.

Matt Capps is not a good pitcher.

The only FA that was let go by not tending a contract that I would possibly want is Ryan Church. I'm not particularly impressed by any of them, though.

Our OF seems ok, should Jackson have himself a nice year.

I don't know how many guys we have now I trust closing. Zoom has had too many health issues, and except Bondo, I don't see anyone else as a true proven pitcher to close. Miner could, but I'd rather have him start or be at the middle relief. It may work with him though, since he uses his sinker effectively. Maybe Seay, but other than that no one.
