| ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Supreme Court has ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state's long-running Senate race.
The high court rejected a legal challenge from Republican Norm Coleman, whose options for regaining the Senate seat are dwindling.
Justices said Franken is entitled to the election certificate he needs to assume office. With Franken and the usual backing of two independents, Democrats will have a big enough majority to overcome Republican filibuster.
Coleman hasn't ruled out seeking federal court intervention.

| UPDATE: Norm Coleman has conceded defeat. Al Franken will be seated. It only took 8 months. What a system we've got | |

| Democrats have their supermajority and a President who was supposed to be the "most liberal" senator (although I can't imagine that's true)....still waiting for the liberal agenda that matters to get passed | |

:puke2: I think in 2012 the GOP will find someone a lot better than her to run. She's way to divisive to be a serious candidate in my opinion. Even a lot of Republicans don't like her. Look for a more moderate Republican to run in 2012. I'd say Romney, but the Southerners will never let him secure the nomination as he's not qualified due to his religion. Like former fascist Republican candidate Mike Huckabee says - "...Mormons believe Jesus and the devil are brothers".

GO HUCKABEE? No, he's worse than Palin. I expect somebody not involved in 2008 to run in 2012. Why would a loser from 2008 try to run in 2012 when their Democratic opponent is the same person? That already failed once. Plus he's made some pretty stupid comments.... "I have just come out of six weeks at a concentration camp held by the Democrat Party of Arkansas in an undisclosed location, making a hostage tape," (when discussing his six weeks at fat camp where he lost 100 pounds) In 2002, asked for his plan to address a tight state budget after an economic downturn, Huckabee said, "Sitting in a warm tub of water with a lot of razor blades." He has complained about Pakistan because they send more illegal immigrants to the US than all countries but Mexico...INS data says this is not even close to true. "I think the radical view is to say that we're going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal." "And that's what we need to do – to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards...."

That is directly from the Mormon's own videos and teaching. So why is Mike wrong in just stating what the Mormons teach??? I even have the Mormon video (I have Mormon relatives), so I know they do teach it. I have no problem with a Mormon saying they are Christian, as long as just like ALL true believers, they have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior (as the Scriptures direct.) This is true with anyone from any church denomination.... Just because you say you are a Christian does not make one a Christian. Just the same as someone standing in a garage and saying they are a car does not make them a car. A Christian is somebody who has accepted Christ, repents of their sins, and have the indwelling Holy Spirit (which is given by God, the Father, at the time of salvation as our counselor/ teacher) who will help them UNDERSTAND the Scriptures. God says that the unbeliever, without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, will find the Scriptures as foolishness, which is why it is important for someone to have the Holy Spirit before they say they truly understand what the Bible says. One Mormon who I see as a true believer is Glenn Beck. He follows the scriptures as the Holy Spirit directs and does not become a lemming who just accepts what his church teaches (as many church attenders do). I have not heard Romney's salvation message, so I don't know if he is an unsaved church follower or a follower of Jesus. To me, so far, I have not found any church that has perfect beliefs, as I understand them. I do not claim knowing the Bible perfectly either, but the Spirit teaches me daily. The Holy Spirit has changed my mind on Biblical issues that I followed because a "Church" has taught them. (It takes more than a lifetime to fully understand the Bible.) After deeper studies of the Bible and prayer to God, the Holy Spirit has helped change my mind on many things. A case in point, the church my grand parents took me to call Sunday the Sabbath... according to the Bible, Sunday is the 1st day of the week and is called the "Lord's Day." The Sabbath is the last day of the week and according to the Bible and the Jewish calendar, is sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. But I do not hold this against them. It is not an issue that would send a person to heaven or hell, and there are many differences between Christian groups just like this. It is not up to me to call them non-Christian because of these small differences. God gives Christians the Holy Spirit, and He will help in matters that are very important to God.

| I don't know/care about Mormonism but I just pointed out that quote as it was quite poorly received. According to an article in the Chicago Tribune, "Mormons believe Jesus was the only begotten son of God and consider him divine. But they also believe Satan was one of God’s first spiritual children, that he rebelled and turned to evil, and was later disinherited." Speaking of Lucifer, I have visited what claims to be the only public monument of the devil in the world, Spains estatua del Ángel Caído (Statue of the Fallen Angel) in the Parque del Buen Retiro (Buen Retiro Park) in Madrid: | |
