WBC: Team USA vs. Team Venezuela Gameday Thread

B:3 S:2 O:3 - Miguel Cabrera grounds into double play,
shortstop Derek Jeter to second baseman Dustin Pedroia to first baseman
Kevin Youkilis. Melvin Mora out at 2nd.

USA WINS 15-6

But I wonder how much effort players are putting out

This is why I am not a huge fan of WBC

Though I did watch it last night

They should play it in November or

have it in July; give teams a two week break

And don't play the All Star Game that year

It was a huge letdown for all the Venezuela fans
Wonder if Chavez paid some of their airfares

I think those people were immigrants

Noticed they played Born in the U.S.A before the start of the bottom of the ninth

That song is actually critical of the U.S


But it is played like a patriotic song

They kept saying, last night, that the USA does not play again, but goes directly to Miami because of their 2 wins... but if that is true, then why did Japan and Korea have to play again, even though Japan was 2-0 and had already beat Korea. The thing that sucks is that Korea beat Japan in that final game to win the Pool! But they both advance to the next level.

So USA will have to play the game 5 winner... which will probably be Venezuela again! And if Venezuela wins that game, they are the pool winner... USA better beat the Venezuela team again!
