Duck Soup is perhaps the most famous film starring the Marx Brothers. In this film one of the brothers in in charge of a country and the others have less important roles. Eventually a war breaks out. This film is an anarchic comedy. This is the first film I have seen with the Marx Brothers and it may very well be my last. This film sort of reminds me of Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator only this film is far less humorous and much less interesting. This film supposedly has some sort of political message behind it but I couldn't get passed the nonstop gags that I did not find at all funny. In short, I thought this was terrible.

20/100

I gave a 9 to a movie once. This is in my top-3 for low scores. I was expecting something like Charlie Chaplin but instead all I saw was crap. It was like they were on speed when they made this movie. It was all so fast and hectic and irritating. Those guys must have all been manic.
