I don't think that will work. It's impossible to get a channel from the US. The only thing we have in our cable is CNN. That's it. I know it's the same thing in Germany. There are some payTV possibilities. But nothing from the US.

| You could always get Slingbox. Of course for that to work you would need to buy a second home in the US, get TV at that home, and hook the slingbox up to that TV....
...It's probably not worth it.

| 01/13/09 1:50 PM EST MLB Network to air Caribbean Series Baseball channel will broadcast live from Mexico in February
By Barry M. Bloom / MLB.com
MLB Network is heading to Mexicali, Mexico, to broadcast the annual Caribbean World Series from Feb. 2-7.
The 12-game tournament will mark the first time the fledgling Network will broadcast live games. Previously, it had scheduled a 16-game slate of World Baseball Classic games when that tournament is played from March 5-23.
In addition to the live events, the Network will air game highlights and recaps of tournament play, preview matchups and provide extensive coverage as part of its hour-long studio show "Hot Stove," which is broadcast each weeknight live at 7 p.m. ET.
"MLB Network is proud to join the long, historic tradition of the Caribbean World Series," said Tony Petitti, MLB Network president and chief executive. "We are excited to make this great international event available to a broad audience of baseball fans."
Save for a decade hiatus, the Caribbean World Series has been played every year since 1949 and usually includes the winner of the Winter Leagues from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. The host country cycles every four years.
"The Caribbean World Series offers baseball fans the opportunity to experience competitive play combined with national pride. We are pleased that the tournament will reach its largest distribution ever through the MLB Network," said Sara Loarte of Cultiva Entertainment, the exclusive Major League Baseball sanction agent for the series.
MLB Network launched on Jan. 1 to a prospective audience of 50 million basic digital cable subscribers. It is also planning a 26-week schedule of Major League games on Thursday nights, beginning with the first week of the regular season.
Mexicali is just south of the border from Calexico, Calif., in the Imperial Valley, and the series is expected this year to draw interest from the U.S. It is the first time the town is hosting "La Serie del Caribe," and it is projected that the games will attract 40,000 tourists and pump $16 million into the region's economy.
The series ran from 1949-1960 with Cuba winning seven times, but it was suspended for a decade when Cuban president Fidel Castro abolished professional baseball in his country. The series then was revived in '70 and has been played ever since without Cuba as a participant.
The Dominicans hosted the series in 2008 and placed two teams in the tournament because Puerto Rico didn't field a team on account of a one-year hiatus in the Puerto Rican Winter League. The tournament was won by the Dominican's Tigres Del Licey.

| Tuesday, February 3, 2009 Bob Costas to join MLB Network The Detroit News
Legendary sportscaster Bob Costas has signed a multi-year deal to join the upstart MLB Network, the league announced Tuesday.
A lifelong baseball fan who covered the game regularly for NBC during the 1980s and '90s, Costas, 56, will host several original documentaries and be the lead play-by-play voice for a select number of the upcoming season's 26 nationally-televised Thursday night games.
His first assignment is an exclusive interview with Dodgers manager (and now published author) Joe Torre that is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Thursday (Ch. 279 on Comcast, 213 on DirecTV).
Costas will remain the face of NBC Sports.
