Washington Mutual Bankrupt

Basically Washington Mutual is out of money and they are going to be bought by J.P. Morgan. They are the largest US bank ever to fail.

We are at the point of getting our money out of mom's annuity and buying gold. At least gold goes up when the dollar goes down! And if you get gold, GET THE GOLD AND NOT A CERTIFICATE THAT SAYS YOU OWN IT! You can then keep it in a bank safe deposit box or other safe!

Gold? Get silver! I've got around 100 ounces of silver and all of 0.2 ounces of gold (it's not much, but I'm unemployed...what do you expect). Gold is good and all, but there aren't that many uses for gold. Sure, it makes jewelry and they use it in alcohol (Goldschläger), but silver has tons of uses - chemistry, photography, etc. Plus it's cheaper. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Goldschläger has gold in it - a full-sized bottle (750mL) has about 0.1 grams of gold flakes (about $3.00 worth at today's prices).
