TIP: Don't try to attend four schools at once

Although this is probably common sense, it turns out trying to go to four schools at the same time is a bad idea.

At the moment I'm enrolled in my final 4 weeks at UCLA before graduation. In addition, I'm taking a class at UCLA Extension (which is like a continuation school and not actually considered UCLA) which ends in two weeks. That's all well and fine but adding more schools runs into problems.

Since I'm about out of LA I thought I might as well get a head start on my post-first bachelor's degree education and enroll in classes closer to home...so I did. I'm taking a class at Allan Hancock College which starts next Monday and is online. I'm also taking classes at Cuesta College which I thought starts next Monday, too. Of course all these classes got me confused and Cuesta College actually started this Monday. Unlike a real university, not attending the first class meeting at a community college is generally frowned on and they'll drop you. One of my classes meets again tomorrow night. I e-mailed the professor and hopefully they'll let me stay in the class It'll really suck if they don't and don't let me know because that class is a 200 mile drive from LA that I don't have to make if I'm not in the class.


In short, four schools is too many - try and keep it at 2-3 max.

It's not really overdoing it at all though....
UCLA: 2 classes, they end in 3 weeks.
Extension: 1 class, it ends in 2 weeks.
Allan Hancock: 1 class, ends in 18 weeks.
Cuesta: 2 classes, ends in 17 weeks.

Other than like a 2 week stretch there's not much overlap. I really wish I wouldn't have screwed up and missed class this week though as I really need to take those classes this fall.

I didn't even realize you were doing that.

I thought it was just psycho school and Cuesta.

I'll stick with my one school (other than guitar lessons but that hardly counts...)

Though drinking four different beers at once would be something I would more likely try

UPDATE: My teacher didn't care that I'm a moron. I'm enrolled in 4 schools after all.

A week from this Friday (today/tomorrow depending on your time zone) I'm down to 3 schools! On 9/11 I'm down to 2 and one will be online
