International Baseball Federation Adopts A New Rule

The International Baseball Federation (IBAF - the A apparently stands for nothing) just adopted the dumbest rule you'll ever here:

Quote :: Beginning in the 11th inning and each inning thereafter, base runners will be placed on first and second base with no outs.

Of course it gets worse...

Quote :: In the 11th inning, the manager can pick any two consecutive batters in his lineup to be at first and second, with the next batter at the plate.

These rules will be in place for this summer's Olympics. Will Bud Selig adopt similar rules?

I mean I've heard dumb ideas, but this is like something someone would come up with as a lame joke while on acid or something.

Babe Ruth used to have runners stationed at 1B to run the bases for him late in his career.
