Starring Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, and Peter Ustinov as three prisoners escaped from Devil's Island (a prison island north of French Guiana in South America). Knowing they won't get far in their prison stripes, Joseph (Bogart), Albert (Ray), and Jules (Ustinov) get themselves hired as cheap labor (as they were "parolees") by the local store owner. They intend to break into the store later that night and steal what they can to make their escape, but soon come to realize the financial straits the store owner and his family are in and decide to hang around and help him.
A typical 50's mix of cute and corny mixed in with elements of Christmas fluff and gallows humor (did I mention that Albert owns a small, extremely poisonous snake named Adolf that... well, you'll see).
3 out of 5 stars
(PS: Aldo Ray's hot...)
