You have to remember, Florida is made up mostly of Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, NY and NJ transplants. When I lived there the people have the same accent as those in Michigan! The difference is in some small towns in north Fla have southern accents, and some people in Miami area and Ybor City area of Tampa are cubans.

I never knew people from Michigan had an accent. But my friend from California says I sound like the people in the movie Fargo Rolling Eyes

We call those track homes, not subdivisions.
