I'm considering coming to Detroit for the opener. That would be awesome. How hard is it to get tickets for this? Any experiences?

Do they play with coloured baseballs when there is snow everywhere?

Opening day is usually a very tough ticket to get. Since you'd be coming from Switzerland, the vast majority of the money you'd be spending would be on the trip over. To get a ticket figure out when they go on sale. If that doesn't work, eBay and stubhub are your best bets. You'll pay more than face value but what's an extra $20 or so when you're making a trip half way around the world?

Also, since they're playing the Royals, if you tried to see the other games in that series it wouldn't be too hard - the Royals are not a very good draw. The fact that it's the opening series will make it somewhat tricky but other than opening day you shouldn't have much of a problem.

Whatever you decide....there is always a way to get a ticket!

Anyone know when the Tigers play in New York next summer? My family is planning a trip there and my dad said he's planning it around those games.

I'm kinda scared though, :haha:, I heard NYY fans are major assholes.

I'm planning to go to those games, too ( ). This thread will let you know when they're being played. It hasn't been announced yet.

Opening Day is always a tough ticket: I think last year the Tigers had fans register online to had a chance to purchase tickets; But I could be wrong!

I could do Tampa/St. Pete, that's not THAT far away...well maybe it's farther than I usually drive. When I was in Disney World the Tigers were in St. Pete,that was driving me crazy the whole time!
