Contract on Tiger Stadium security close to approval

The Detroit Economic Development Corp., a quasi-public arm of the city, was moving today toward approving a contract with RSIG Security Group Inc. to provide security at Tiger Stadium pending demolition.

The contract, worth $48,299, would provide security until a demolition contractor takes over the stadium security sometime in June. RSIG Security provided security at the stadium last year during the auction of stadium seats and memorabilia, and is doing so now pending approval of the new contract.

The EDC board lacked a quorum to approve the contract today but was expected to do so at its next meeting in June. In the meantime, RSIG will continue to provide the security.

I wonder if RSIG security can be bribed like that security guard was that the local news busted.



Remember he was letting people inside the Stadium that were taking chairs and playing softball on the field

But the Cops can harass the peanut vendor selling peanuts on Woodward Ave.

Another thing about street vendors;

If Ilitch wants to make more money, than ban people from bringing food and bottled water into Comerica.


But it is nice to buy a can of pop or bottle of water after a game on the way back to my car.


Not like the concession stands are open after the game ends at Comerica

Too bad Bud Selig and MLB keep ordering You Tube to remove clips of the Stadium.

Well, personally I think that gs has made too many posts on this page, and that Tigers Stadium should stay.

Too many! I have not begun to post Gdennis!




Nothing gets me going more than the issue of Tiger Stadium.



It is a shame that it soon will be no more. I love the Tigers; but i am not a huge fan of Comerica Park. [ even if the Tigers played in a stadium like the Metrodome, i still go to the games]

Tiger Stadium was better; More Shade, The seats closer to the action, especially the upper deck, tickets were cheaper, They had Coke instead of Pepsi and the hot dogs tasted better.

Whether grilled or broiled! Tiger Stadium Hot dogs were awesome! In contrast, Comerica's are undercooked and seeing a vendor carrying hot dogs in a gym like bag, resting it on top of his head, like that fat guy that sells the kosher ones in the bleachers, does not make my mouth water


Tiger Stadium was an awesome place to watch a game. I feel sorry for the younger fans [ people your age Gdennis and younger that never got to experience Tiger Stadium or if they did, they were too small to remember.


Same thing applies to Drive In Movies and Boblo Island


Then again, Most of Today's teens and tweens are probably to busy playing Guitar Hero to give a shit.


I guess if you never experienced something, you can't miss it

I still say watching old Tiger Stadium clips is a rush. It really makes me feel connected with how long this team has been around.

The Clips are awesome!
