Yankees Lefthander Reyes Suspended

Yankees lefthander Angel Reyes
received a 50-game suspension for testing positive for stanozolol
metabolites, a performance-enhancing substance. Reyes, 21, did not make
an Opening Day roster, so his suspension will begin when short-season
Staten Island commences play in June.
The Yankees signed Reyes out of the Dominican Republic in 2003, but
despite having a fastball that has touched 94 mph, he has struggled to
get out of short-season ball. Entering the 2007 season, the converted
outfielder was regarded as the lefty with the system’s highest ceiling,
but he went just 0-2, 4.65 with 33-21 K-BB in 31 innings for low Class
A Charleston that spring. Now he won’t have a chance to build on that
full-season ball experience until 2009.

Just another Yankee that uses roids and still sucks.

Maybe we need an unbalanced schedule where we play the Rangers and Yankees 50 times a year
