The Tigers' Curtis Granderson signs autographs before the game.
Granderson did not start, but replaced Ryan Raburn late in the game for
defensive help in center field.

This throw from the Tigers' Kenny Rogers to first baseman Miguel
Cabrera is not in time to pick off the Yankees' Derek Jeter in the
first inning.

The Tigers' Pudge Rodriguez connects for a lead-off double in the first
inning as the Tigers take on the Yankees at Comerica Park in Detroit on
Friday, May 9, 2008. Rodriguez went 3-for-4 at the plate, with two

Yankees starter Kei Igawa pitches in the first inning.

Yankees first-year manager Joe Girardi visits the mound, along with
shortstop Derek Jeter, left, and catcher Chad Moeller, right, to have a
chat with starting pitcher Kei Igawa in the first inning. Igawa lasted

Tigers starter Kenny Rogers scattered nine hits, but gave up just two
earned runs in six complete innings to earn the victory. He is now 3-3
on the season.

The Tigers' Pudge Rodriguez is congratulated in the dugout after
scoring on a sacrifice fly by Carlos Guillen in the first inning.

Tigers pitcher Kenny Rogers hops the third base foul line while heading
to the dugout after getting out of a jam in the third inning.

The Tigers' Ryan Raburn motors around second base. He would score on an
RBI double by Pudge Rodriguez. It was the start of a three-run inning
for the Tigers.

The Tigers' Ryan Raburn slides safely into home plate ahead of a tag by
Yankees catcher Chad Moeller for the first of three runs in the third
inning. Raburn was driven in on an RBI double by Pudge Rodriguez.

The Tigers' Gary Sheffield hits an RBI double in the third inning,
scoring Placido Polanco from second base and making the score 4-1. It
was the 1,583rd RBI of Sheffield's career, which tied him with Al
Kaline for 35th on the all-time list.

Fans watch the game from beyond left field among the statues, including
this one of Al Kaline. Friday night's game was a sellout, with the
ninth-largest crowd, 44,062, in Comerica Park history.

Yankees baserunner Chad Moeller. Moeller was out, but Derek Jeter beat
the throw at first in the seventh inning.

Tigers reliever Zach Miner pitches in the eighth inning. Miner pitched two innings and gave up one hit and no earned runs.

Tigers skipper Jim Leyland watches things get tense in the late
innings. Tigers closer Todd Jones gave up three runs in the ninth, but

Bet that lensse cover won't be cheep to replace!

Tigers closer Todd Jones wasn't happy while sitting in the dugout after giving up a home run to Boston's David Ortiz in the ninth inning.

If that made him mad, I'm sure almost loosing last nights game caused him to really be angry!
