Offense ready for April; lefty gives up four runs in five frames

Tigers at the plate: Carlos Guillen connected on a solo homer in the third, with Jacque Jones doing the same in the fourth. Brandon Inge was 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Astros at the plate: Miguel Tejada was 2-for-3 with a double. Hunter Pence hit a solo homer in the third, while Ty Wigginton knocked a two-run shot in the sixth. Jose Cruz Jr. was 2-for-3, raising his spring average to .364.

Tigers on the mound: Starter Nate Robertson allowed four runs on six hits over five innings, striking out two. Yorman Bazardo allowed five runs on four hits in the sixth frame.

Astros on the mound: Starter Shawn Chacon gave up three runs on five hits over five innings. He yielded two solo homers, walked two and struck out one. Dave Borkowski threw a scoreless sixth, striking out two.

Spring Training records: Tigers 15-14-3; Astros 13-18-1.
