TIGERS, ASTROS RAINED OUT: The Tigers and Astros game was rained out last night after one inning of play. The Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on the strength of a Magglio Ordonez two-run home run before the game was called.

STELLAR STARTING: Through the club’s first 18 games of the Grapefruit League schedule, Tigers starting pitchers have combined to compile a 6-0 record and 2.61 ERA (51.2IP/15ER). Detroit’s starters have registered 35 strikeouts, while allowing 46 hits and 14 walks.

TIGERS TOPS IN ERA: Through the first 18 games of the club’s Grapefruit League schedule, Tigers pitchers have compiled a 3.75 ERA. The 3.75 ERA is tops among all American League clubs so far this spring.

GUILLEN AND PUDGE PACKING A PUNCH: Carlos Guillen and Ivan Rodriguez both have been swinging the bat well for the Tigers. Guillen has hit safely in five of his last seven games, batting .435 (10x23) with a double, triple and four home runs. Rodriguez has hit safely in each of his last five games, including homering in four of the games. During the five-game stretch, he is batting .615 (8x13) with two doubles and five home runs. Rodriguez is currently leading the Grapefruit League with six home runs this spring, while Guillen is tied for second with four home runs.

HOMER HAPPY: The Tigers connected for one home run on Thursday versus the Braves and in eight games dating back to March 7, the club has belted 17 home runs.

I wish I got FSN Detroit

Lap hopfully will tape it for us. She taped the Spotlight on Maggs special last month for me. If we can get several of these, I will put them all on a DVD for trading.

Anyone else that gets FSN Det, (brob?, Soul?) please tape it just in case she does not get home in time. She was supposed to fly back from FL today, I thought.

I want the Verlander one especially. I tried and tried to get it last year but no luck.
