since my computer jams up everytime i try to get on the 70s and 80s thread, i'm just gonna tell ya most of my favs in one whole post. I like a wide range of music except rap.
i would post pics by each artist for people who dont know them, but i dont know how.
Misfits Samhain Danzig
Glenn Danzig is my most favorite artist . misfits 77-83, samhain 84-87, danzig 87-now. one of the very few artist that has been around as long as he has and every record sounds different. awesome voice, one of his nicknames is EVIL ELVIS. very very dark truthfull views of this world.
Elvis :king:
ELO- Jeff Lynne is a genius
The Guess Who- Burton Cummings, is a great song writer with one of the best voices around
GnR- the best rock band ever
The Smiths-best depressing songs ever.
Morrissey- see the smiths
Tiny Tim- probably the most underated singers ever. granted he did do alot of goofy stuff. but the man had an amazing vocal range. Please dont judge him because of tiptoe. please watch the youtube vid in my signature if you only know of his high pitch signing.
Rammstein- just because its in another language doesnt mean its not good. the tightest band in my opinion.
The Cult- good ol sexy stripper rock
The Doors- its all about jim and will always be. DO NOT BUY the new remastered versions of the albums. the bitter ones, lowered jims vocals and raised the music louder. what a shame.
Faith No More- every album different. very underated band. have influenced alot of bands
Huey Lewis-just great 80s tunes not to be taken serious
Queens Of The Stone Age- called stoner rock, i hate drugs and the drug image, but i like the their music
The White Stripes- you call yourself Detroit fans, then you better know who they are
White Zombie/Rob Zombie- just good fun metal that you can dance to
Tom Jones-to me the greatest voice ever. knew how to work it and boy does he work it. you have to give a guy his age credit who can still have 20 year olds throw their panties up there.
Type O Negative-good goth band in the begining who just now tell it like it is
Waylon Jennings- greatest country artist ever
William Shatner- just because
Soundtracks- not very many, i only like soundtracks that make me remember the scene the music is from. alot of ST can not do that. not only are these my fav soundtracks, but these are my favorite movies.
All Star Wars- star wars is my first love since i was 2 or 3 i am told. i am 30 now. i collect toys, and very very expensive items such as props and more. i named my two kids after star wars characters. George Lucas made these movies with the idea of a silent movie with the music. and he is right, i can tell you every part of the movie from a bit of song i hear. i hope when he releases the star wars SAGA on blu-ray, that there will be an option to watch the movies with just the music.
All Harry Potter- to me there hasnt been anything like star wars. that is til harry potter hit. and i mean the first book. those 7 books are my favorite books to read. yeah they are for kids, but they are written so well. you can picture everything. and what makes it so great is when you first see it on the big screen and its just how you thought it would be. you may not like them, but you have give J.K Rowling credit for making millions of kids want to read. she did not to run into the trap that most writers fall into. yes harry is the main character but she did such a good job of building all the other characters that kids can pick others as their favorite other then just the lead. alot of books dont have that. and the movies are very good also. I also like the movie Harry Cooter, but we wont talk about that :nahnah:
Dawn Of The Dead (not the remake)- the greatest horror movie ever. and add Goblin music to it, just makes damn creepy.
Devils Rejects-great songs from the 70s that fit this film so well. house of 1000 corpes sucked ass, was just one giant music video. Zombie learned alot of what not to do after that movie. he made a dirty gritty hell of a ride with this movie. and he made the remake of Halloween a zillion time better then that crap ass original.
The Warriors-I hope the remake never makes it off the ground. great music, i really like the Barry De Vorzon music, makes the movie even darker.
These are my favs. these get replayed over and over. there are some songs like from the 80s i like but i dont like the artist., the typical one hit wonder stuff.

Wow... of all the bands you said, I listen to one of them. And only a little bit. The White Stripes
Oh and Harry Potter is an awesome book series, but I didn't really like them movies. they are okay, but the books are 1,000 times better. They cut soooo much out of them, and I don't picture anything how they put it. Plus, a lot of the times with movies, you pretty much get told what everything looks like. I don't like that, I am very imaginative, so I like reading the books so i can visualize, in my own way, what everything looks like.
