Geneology Thread

Tell us your "recipe!"

I'm 1/2 Czech, 1/4 German, and 1/4 Scottish.

Well mine is pretty mixed up, I have been able to research over 50,00 relatives (and I am not Morman! but I used their "Ancestry.com" to search and verify).

1/2 Ukranian (both my fathers parents came from near Kiev (before Soviet Union took it over)

Just over 1/4 German -

maternal grandmother was 100% German (Snyder & Hein), maternal grandfather 30% German (Carr).

Maternal Grandfather - 50% Scottish/Irish (McKee), 30% German (Buss=Busch=Bush), the rest was Swiss, English and other various nationalities)

I'm something like 50% Scottish, 25% English, and 10% Indian, and 15% other. I'm a mutt!

I'd have to look up the exact details (I don't have them with me), but here goes anyways....


My dad's dad's dad's dad was born in N. Ireland and his wife was born in Ireland.

My mom's mom's dad's dad was born in Italy somewhere. My mom's dad's side is mostly English with a hint of German.

Basically, I'm mostly Italian, Irish, and English with just a hint of other. Then again you have to go back at least 4 generations or so so I guess I'm pretty American.

Yeah, keeps it interesting! I have a Scottish temper, a love for tea, and a wonderful sense of direction... all of my faults come from the 'other'. :haha:

I'm part French from my dad's side. When they first came over here, they first came to Canada then went to Detroit to work in the Automotive Industry. On my mom's side I'm part Scottish.

It's true I believe I can sing very well after a few beers, but I'm too cheap to buy name brand paper towels

No Wal Mart in Trashy Park. They wanted to build one in the Sears Shopping Center but people protested and the city agreed. I guess having a vacant Dunham's, Star Theatre, F and M drug store, Sibley Shoes, Harmony House and Old Navy are better than having a big box retail store

They make name brand paper towels? What about napkins?

My napkins are Mardi Gras. That's a brand?

I dunno! Might be a store brand or regular brand. I have Kroger brand napkins and towels myself!

I don't understand why people always oppose having big box retailers, it makes no sense. It's a store to shop at and it brings in jobs. I live at the Walmart Supercenter by me!!! I constantly need something and I can just drive there in 3 1/2 minutes!!! And like GS was saying, having all these empty buildings is just stupid!!!

Anyway, answering the actual thread question, lol, I'm all kinds of stuff, in no particular order: Irish, English, Scottish, German, French, Polish, probably others, lol Apparently my ancestors could not decide where the hell to live :haha:

Yeah, women do clean more often than men. Have you ever scrubbed a toilet? I haven't. My mom sent me some bleach last time I came home. I just poured it in there and let it sit for a while until I could take the smell no longer. She also sent me these blue discs to drop in the tank that do the work for me.

I've never vacuumed my apartment in the 1.5 years I've been here.


Oh yeah, happy birthday a while back - I made a thread but you never replied

And yes I've cleaned the toilet, I that scrubby thingie I have with the disposable head thingie
