Does anyone know the players expecting to play for both sides today (Tigers vs. Mets)

I've heard the Mets are not bringing many of their expected starters for a number of reasons...but I still wanted to know who the Mets brought along on their trip.

(I have bet 600 to win 500 on the Tigers today...so that is reason for my interest)

I've seen the pitchers slated to go...just not the lineup players. Is anyone in Lakeland today?

Thanks!

Ryan Church, Ramon Castro and Marlon Anderson are making the trip. That's about the extent of the regulars from the Mets.

You bet $600 to win $500 on a ST game? !

Seeing as how Leyland practically subbed the whole starting lineup after one inning yesterday, I'd call that bet a pure cr'ap-shoot. Guess that's why it's called gambling. Good luck!

Here's the starting lineup for the Tigers..

www.mlive.com/tigers/index.ssf/2008/02/zumayas_throwing_rodney_isnt.html

Granderson, cf
Polanco, 2b
Timo Perez, dh
Ordonez, rf
Cabrera, 3b
Guillen, 1b
Renteria, ss
Rodriguez, c
Jones, lf

Bonderman, p

I know it's only a ST game, but how in the world is Cabrera not hitting 3rd when Sheffield is not in the lineup? And Timo hitting 3rd? How many games did the Tigers lose when Timo was batting 3rd last year? That's a good question. I should look it up.

"How many games did the Tigers lose when Timo was batting 3rd last year? That's a good question. I should look it up."

Tigers were 1-2 when T. Perez batting 3rd last year. Hmmm...it seemed like he batted there more often last year when Sheffield went down.

makes sense to me, jl probably just wants cabrera getting used to batting 5th.

That too doesn't make any sense. Cabrera should always bat 3rd while Sheffield is #5. Sheffield will miss more games than Cabrera and I don't really want to see Raburn, Thames and Timo bat 3rd in 20-30 games next year.

i agree...Miggy better be in the 3 hole on opening day...and EVERY DAY he plays. you get more at-bats obviously if you bat in the top 3 in the lineup...and dont you want miggy getting as many at-bats as possible?

sheffy should only bat 3rd if Miggy has a day off...even then i would consider moving granderson down to the 3rd hole, with renteria maybe leading off.

on the other hand, its only the first official game of ST..

They just had an Ester-C commercial (or something like that). How can you have non-acidic vitamin c? Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic ACID, is an acid. Non-acidic vitamin C....that's an oxymoron, isn't it?

Based on the name I'm guessing it's an ester, but that's not real vitamin C!

I'm sure some reliever that I've never heard of will eff it up for me in the 9th...but it's good to be winning.

Then one guy decides since it's been red 7 times in a row he wanted to bet black (LOL!) so he put $100 on it. It was black so he let it ride. It was black again (he now had $400). He tried to let it ride again but the machine wouldn't let him - the max bet was only $250. It was red and he would have lost.
