I know, I think it is funny.

They did some sort of video spot last summer when he got it shaved off. I can imagine it's none too comfortable for Magglio when it gets to be 90+ out with the humidity.

I agree unless they have the special coolmax type caps.

they have so many gadgets they use that we have no clue they even use! ex Fiten necklaces and bracelets. I picked up a bracelet on eBay. It sort of works.

That's true, some kids I teach constantly wanna hug you and others just want no part of it, different personalities. I had one little boy, cute as can be, when I was student teaching and he didn't like anyone touching him, but yet he would stand next to me all the time, kids are so funny!

and it takes a special person such as yourself to understand them!

Glad we have people like you teaching. I have taught college level, and they can be a pain.... but it takes a special person to work with little kids!

Teaching college would be hard, high school even worse!!! I haven't been brave enough to sub in a middle school yet, lol
But thanks, I just LOVE the little dudes, I want to teach K or 1st grade sooooo bad, maybe I relate to them cause I like to act like a little kid too, lol

My mother always said after 2nd grade, they really start losing respect for teachers. She never taught above 3rd grade.

It was easier teaching in college than high school would be. In HS you are still a babysitter, in college I put the responsibility on the students shoulders! You want to learn, come to class. You come to class -- I go over the test info, the day before the test or quiz, you don't come, you miss the easy shortcut to passing the test. If more than 30% miss a question on a quiz or test, you will see it again until you learn it!

If they fail, it was their fault! I normally had a lot of students get A's and B's, those who did not do the work or missed too many classes usually got C's and D's. Few ever failed, they were the total burn outs.

I had a lot of teachers and administrators take my computer classes and they all gave me great reports as to how I ran the classes.

I even made the Word Processing class self paced. They did the work in the book, turned it in and if they scored 80 or above, ok, otherwise they had to redo the assignment until they did ok. Same with tests. The classes went around 10 weeks, twice a week (two hours each class), and some students were finished with their work in 6 to 8 weeks, and were passed! Others took the complete time. It was more work for me, with helping each student individually, as needed, but 95% of the students liked it better than the traditional lecture day - lab day method. I just warned them the first day of class, so if they were not self motivated, they could transfer to another section that was traditional.

Low pay and they changed regulations that said you had to have your masters in computers. I had two bach. in computers and a masters in Ed. and counseling, but that did not count! So I opened my own Computer consulting company.

wow! You sound a lot more direction-filled than me. I earned a BA, BS, and MA, then went to community college in a certificate program...the latter was what got me in this career path!
