King Kwame's Text Messages

What do you think of Kwame? Leaving messages of his affair on city owned pagers. You would think he be smart enough to use a pay phone or his own cell phone, but why should politicians pay for anything.


Let the stupid taxpayers pay for it.

Kick Kwame out and get a forward thinking non-racial mayor who looks out for ALL the people of Detroit. As long as Coleman Young and Kwame have been in office, Detroit has become one big slum. So sad when you look back and see it once was a very progressive city!

They need a great mayor who stands behind a revamped police department who does its job in a fair way, and brings big business and residents back into this sad joke of a city. I know they have been trying, but it takes a good city council, mayor, and support organizations to make people WANT to join in and be part of Detroit proper!

I feel sorry for all the good people, of all races, who live there in terror of drug gangs, crime, ect.

They need to scrap the whole political system in Detroit and start over

Who knows....seems like he is always in trouble. I wish someone would turn Detroit around.

We certainly deserve better! hard working people do not like to see some elected official fetter away their hard-earned tax dollars!

'Where's Kwame?' shirt sold on eBay

CANTON TOWNSHIP -- An enterprising Canton resident hopes to cash in on the search for Detroit's elusive mayor by selling a "Where's Kwame?" T-shirt on eBay for $9.99.

On the back, the T-shirt features a help wanted ad for a new mayor for the city of Detroit. Qualifications include dishonesty, unfaithfulness and the ability to hide, according to the shirt.

"Can not own personal car," the ad reads.

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick had evaded the media spotlight since text messages made public Wednesday contradict claims he made on the stand about a sexual relationship with Chief of Staff Christine Beatty.
