Let's Play Chess! (White Wins!)

I thought this might be kind of fun so let's give it a try.

We'll play a game of chess through the forums. It'll take forever but that's the fun of it.

The rules:

• All standard chess rules apply (this is the untimed version obviously)
  
• You can only play for one side. Once you make a move for that side you are stuck on that side. I'll keep track of what side you're on in this post.

That move is not allowed. Kings can only move one space. Try again (or anyone on the black team).

How would that be different if you wanted to move your knight at that position?

I *think* that it'd be NC3 but I'm not 100%. I think wikipedia said something along the lines of you don't use a letter for pawns in algebraic notation or something like that.


EDIT: I looked it up and it is NC3. Look here for more info.

So you know:
Q = queen
K = king
R = rook
N = knight
B = bishop
NOTHING = pawn

When a piece is captured use an x (i.e. QxE7 would mean queen moves to E7 and captures something).

When a check is made us a + (ie. QE7+ would mean queen moves to E7 - check).

For a checkmate use a # (or ++ in more archaic times) (i.e. QE7#) would mean queen moves to E7 - checkmate).

If a pawn uses en passant capturing use e.p. before the move (i.e. e.p.B6 would mean that the pawn moved to B6 to en passant capture a pawn).

If any castling is used either use 0-0 or 0-0-0 (kingside or queenside castling respectively).

Please reread my post! I fixed it. The information you just quoted is VERY WRONG! I know now how to algebraically note chess though!

I think so. The "c" isn't capitalized though. Only piece names (R, K, N, Q, B) are capitalized.
