At a ceremony following the game Tigers from the '30s through the '90s were introduced to the fans, most of whom couldn't bring themselves to leave the old ballpark. First out of the tunnel was Mark Fydrich, who headed directly to the pitchers mound where he filled a plastic bag with souvenir dirt.

Some of the fans dressed for the occasion, others just wanted to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy Corktown.
After the flag was lowered for the last time from the stadium's pole, it was passed from former Tiger to former Tiger, until Earl Wilson, left, handed it to Eldon Auker, who pitched for the team in the 1930s. Auker then presented it to current Tiger Brad Ausmus.

You may want to save some of these pics to your computer or servimg if you want to keep them. They are hosted at the Det News and should be available, but you never know when they will not be available anymore.
