Those Allen and Ginter cards are kind of cool. I know Pat Neshek of the Twins loves them...

That's kind of an oxymoron! That's like saying:

"I eat at McDonalds. I have never heard of a Big Mac"

Topps makes those Allen and Ginter cards lol!

NYY Girl...just enter "Allen & Ginter" along with a player name in the Ebay search box and they will come up. Maggs has 2 poses for this year. Carlos looks a little angry in his, but Placido's is nice. These are tiny cards that have a vintage baseball theme.

True, however, Topps makes A LOT of different kinds of cards. I am into the eTopps virtual cards.

I was into etopps for a while. I had hundreds of dollars worth. I sold them a couple years ago and bought silver instead at around $8.50 an ounce. Silver is now around $13.50 an ounce. I think that was a better investment than the etoppos. If I'm going to collect cards I'd like to be able to hold 'em and what not.

I was thinking about doing that with some of them but didn't. My problem was I kept buying Lions when they first game out and I had gay players like Joey Harrington. It's bad enough to look at on the screen...imagine what that would look like in hand!!

Silver>Joey Harrington!

Do they have a Verlander etopps? That I might consider and get in hand. Speaking of him, I got my McFarlane Verlander in the mail yesterday! Should I open it?

There is a Verlander (2006). I had mine AUTOGRAPHED. The card sells for around $12 (without the AUTO).
I wouldn;t open the McFarlane piece if you bought it for investment. I bought 2 so I could open one and keep the other one mint.

I have bunches of those pieces too!!

How'd you get it autographed? They allow you to buy autographs I think, don't they?

I haven't opened the thing yet. Maybe I'll buy another one and then open one.

They offer occasional AUTO'S of certain hot players. You have to have the card in your portfolio and then when it is offered, you can buy an AUTO.
They then take the card out of your "port" and send it to you autographed!!
I got a Granderson and a Zumaya too!!
Missed the Kaline though!! DOH!!

That sounds about right. I haven't paid much attention to etopps. It seems like the value of everything just steadily declines. That's why I backed out.
