The Little League field on which late Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart developed his talents now bears his name. The field in Halfway, Md., was rededicated as Nicholas James Adenhart Memorial Field in a Sunday ceremony attended by about 150 people, including his mother, Janet Gigeous.
Having the field renamed in her son's honor had been a top priority of Gigeous since the April 9 car crash in which Adenhart was killed.
The red, white and blue sign bearing Adenhart's name includes a Pete Rose quotation: "You owe it to yourself to be the best you can possibly be ... in baseball and in life."
The man charged in the drunken-driving crash that killed Adenhart and two others in Fullerton, Calif., is scheduled for trial in November.
